The Workshop on Sunday 8th March was a great success. There was valuable information shared that benefited a range of attendees including social and competitive dances and professionals.
We once again had Standard specialist Katusha Volgina from Melbourne giving a very interesting lecture that focused on the use of head weight in Waltz, Viennese Waltz and Foxtrot.
Donna Lydon from the Sunshine Coast filled us in on hairstyles that enhanced the look of both male and female dancers and the correct way to apply make-up to look your best on the competition floor.
Finally we had Latin specialists Justin and Amy Sharrock who concentrated on the timing of actions in Rumba and Cha Cha.
All the lectures were very interactive and those who attended were enthusiastic participants. Check out some photos taken on the day in the photo gallery section on the website.
Thank you to everyone who attended and watch out for information on upcoming events and future workshops!
Queensland Associated Dance Studios organised this Workshop as a service to the dancing community of Queensland and members of our Society were given free admission.
If you would like to support the only active Queensland based Society, please become a member. Look for the application form on this website. The cost is only $45 per year and this, among other things, entitles Professionals to free admission to both our competitions and non-Professionals will receive $10 off admission to our competitions. All membership money is used for the benefit of dancing in Queensland.
